Pray for Open Door Church of Suffolk in Suffolk, Virginia

Today, we invite you to pray for Open Door Church of Suffolk, located in Suffolk, Virginia, and led by Pastor Tony Peaks, who has faithfully served this congregation since 1980.

For more than four decades, Open Door Church of Suffolk has been committed to sharing the gospel both locally and globally. Their ministry impact stretches far beyond their community, supporting Bible schools in Kenya and Tanzania, missionaries serving in Bolivia and Australia, and a retired itinerant minister continuing gospel work in Italy. Locally, the church demonstrates Christ’s love through monthly food distribution and partnerships with ministries such as the Salvation Army, local jail ministry, Gideons, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, and other community efforts as needs arise.

Pastor Peaks is married and has celebrated 46 years of marriage. He and his wife are blessed with three children and six grandchildren, including one son serving in full-time ministry. In addition to leading the church, Pastor Peaks also serves as an overseer for 14 churches, providing governance, financial guidance, and pastoral counsel.

An upcoming ministry focus for the church is Vacation Bible School, scheduled for July 26–31 (nightly). While the broader ministry calendar is still in planning, this VBS outreach represents a significant opportunity to reach children and families in the community with the hope of Christ.
