We are praying for Bromley Road Baptist Church in Ottawa, Ontario

Bromley Road Baptist Church is a historic congregation in Ottawa, now 112 years old and located in its current building for the past 63 years. When their sanctuary was built in 1962, the cornerstone was laid by former Canadian Prime Minister John Diefenbaker. The church is situated in a mixed social and economic neighborhood and typically welcomes about 100 adults and around 30 children under age 11 each Sunday.

One of Bromley’s most impactful ministries is their summer camp, which launched 12 years ago with a heart to serve single parents in the community. The camp now ministers to approximately 150 neighborhood kids each summer and has developed an excellent reputation. The camp has also helped fuel the church’s youth ministry, with more than half of their current group of about 10 teens coming through camp connections.

In December, Bromley hosts a special evening of carol singing and desserts, which has become a meaningful outreach opportunity. Approximately 130 people typically attend, including invited neighbors, benevolence recipients, and many families connected through the summer camp. Please pray that this year’s event brings gospel hope to those who attend and that church members boldly invite friends. In January, Bromley begins sign-ups for their summer camp; pray for God to bring the right children and families, as well as the right staff applicants, to make the ministry fruitful.

Bromley Road Baptist Church is pastored by Rob Sellitto. Pastor Rob has been married to his wife Jill for 22 years. They have two children: Isaac (20) and Nevaeh (17). Rob’s greatest prayer burden is for his kids; that they will each experience the love of Jesus deeply and choose to follow Him with joy and devotion.

Specific Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for Pastor Rob and Jill’s children, Isaac and Nevaeh, to know God’s love and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

2. Pray for God’s leading as Bromley seeks to hire a youth and family pastor.

3. Pray for the summer camp ministry, that staff will demonstrate Christ’s love to every child and family.

4. Pray for the Christmas outreach event to draw many to Christ.

5. Pray that the church listens well to their neighbors and shows the love of Jesus in practical ways so that many will come to follow Him.
