We are praying for Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota

Cities Church is a gospel-centered congregation in St. Paul committed to making disciples of all nations in obedience to the Great Commission. Their vision is not only to be faithful where they are, but also to see more churches multiplied across the Twin Cities that share this same mission. Under the leadership of Lead Pastor, Jonathan Parnell, the church emphasizes a joyful, outward-focused faith that forms believers for everyday faithfulness and gospel witness. Members are encouraged to live generously, serve their neighbors, and participate in God’s work both locally and globally. 

Last Sunday, Cities Church faced a significant challenge when protesters interrupted a morning worship service, disrupting the opening prayer and creating a frightening environment for families and children in attendance. The interruption occurred amid heightened tensions in the Twin Cities, and the disruption of a peaceful worship gathering caused fear and distress among congregants. Church leaders and ministry partners have since called for prayer, peace, and protection for those who gather to worship, as well as for a renewed sense of calm and trust in God during a difficult and emotionally charged season.

Prayer Requests

• Pray for peace, comfort, and a renewed sense of safety for the congregation, especially for children and families affected by the disruption.
• Pray for wisdom, courage, and pastoral strength for Pastor Jonathan and church leaders as they shepherd the church through this season.
• Pray for protection of worship gatherings and for the freedom to assemble and worship without intimidation or interruption.
• Pray that Cities Church would continue to be a welcoming witness, responding to opposition with grace, truth, and gospel love.
• Pray for the Department of Justice investigation into the unlawful disruption of a place of worship.
